I’ve been thinking about this idea for a workshop for quite a while now. After lots of fun experimentation I have a few tips and tricks to teach you!
In this workshop we will experiment with making layers of print design using mini silkscreens, underglaze paints, gel plates and paper.
Then we will use our decorated paper to create designs onto clay slabs.
By slumping the slabs into plaster moulds we will produce a set of little bowls and plates.
During this class we will be using my screens to create the transfers. I have 10 different designs to choose from.
I have 2 weekend workshops listed for April, check out the website and video below for details.
**OPTION OF BRINGING OWN SILKSCREEN**
If you would like to print your own drawings onto clay during this workshop you will need to arrange to have a screen made up through Jackson’s in Northbridge. This costs $40 for an A4 design. Ring Jackson’s to find out the design requirements on 9328 8880. Then bring the screen to class with you.
Please do not bring screens larger than A4 as I don’t have the room for larger screens.
PLEASE NOTE, this is not compulsory as I have screens for people to use, this is only if you want to use your own drawings.
